Why This Matters

This week’s list comes from one of my original stores, which has been participating in Supersedes and DAT Spins for a full year. Your store likely has many of these same opportunities.

The aftermarket is changing quickly. Just look at the OR and NAPA merger—and remember when we went through similar changes with AAP. The key is to stay ahead of those changes by having the right parts on the shelf before the next sale walks in.

·         Review superseded parts regularly.

·         Keep replacement numbers current.

·         Stock key items before customers choose another supplier.

This is a good place to start getting Replacements Weekly, so you don't miss sales for however long until a counter pro says: "I know we did stock that before". Then they look it up and realize it has been superseded to a new mfg. and line code...... you probably missed a sale or two by then.

How It Works

I take a Sunday purchase order, which is usually your largest, and compare it with your default DC stocking list.

Then we give you direction of superseded numbers or actual non-stocking numbers you might want to source from other vendors. Examples could be AC Filters…. My New Line and Part Numbers are in your DC before I add them on this list. I will remove Order Points and Set New Order Points for you on the Total List here, or you can manually... your choice.
