Is DAT Really Working for You?

DAT is a nice program. Your AE does a good job for you. But when you see these numbers below, you must wonder if you’re getting the Best Results from the program.

Focus on the yellow-highlighted numbers and notice the significant gap between the DAT Return (from a Spin) and My Return. That’s a huge difference. We’re seeing two years with no sales from this store with both My Return and DAT Return that indicate low sales. Maybe overall these numbers from My Return are not good sellers, but the DC doesn’t want them either? Eventually, you end up with them going to non-stock, and you can’t return them. So, get them out Now so you can Maximize Your Dollars and put them back into items that are selling in your region with My Process and using DAT as a baseline.

The Opposite scenario. Again, focus on the yellow-highlighted cells. Why is the DAT Return higher than My Return? Different stores but still using two years no sales. Maybe these are good sellers and DC’s want them back to redistribute? My research shows that most of the numbers from DAT to be returned have sold within the previous 12 months in this store. You have probably seen some of that in the Stock Adjust Returns on the PO Main Menu in Exploris. I know we do with the stores I’m working with.
